About the Committee

The WSTA Clerks of the Authority Committee was formed September 1, 1993.The Committee meets twice a year in the Spring and Fall for a day and a half long meeting and includes members from both Washington and Oregon. The meeting location is rotated among members so each has a chance to serve as meeting host.

Committee Goals & Objectives
These meetings provide opportunities for training, networking, sharing information between transit personnel, as well as a resource for contacts. Workshops focus on roles and responsibilities of board members and board support personnel, current transit issues, various development and skill building sessions for board support personnel, and provides clerks with valuable resources and networking opportunities.

Committee Leadership

The Committee elects a new Committee Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary each year. The 2017-2018 Officers are:

  • Chair: Tracy Becht, Mason Transit Authority  
  • Vice Chair: Melanie Hall, Valley Transit
  • Secretary: Saira Martinez, Grant Transit Authority
