About the Committee
The Maintenance Committee was formed in 1983 and is one of our earliest WSTA committees. The committee meets three times each year in the Spring, Summer and Fall. The Spring and Fall meetings are regular meetings but in the Summer, the meeting is in conjunction with the Washington State Public Transportation Conference. The two regular meetings are half day meetings followed by a group dinner for networking.
Committee Goals & Objectives
The Committee's main purpose is to solidify the maintenance community by establishing standards of maintenance and safety which develop the best products for the public. By participating in meetings, members will be able to exchange information, procedures and ideas, improve safety, reliability, and efficency and effectiveness of bus operations, reduce costs of maintenance facility operations, improve passenger comfort and encourage the development of new and improved bus technologies.
The Committee is current lead by Committee Chair Kevin Gallacci of Clallam Transit. The Vice Chair of the Committee is Marshall Krier of Mason Transit. The Secretary is Todd Griffith of Spokane Transit.
Each year the Maintenance Committee holds a Maintenance Forum & Vendor Show in conjuntion with their Spring meeting. The forum is a day and a half event featuring vendor exhibitors related to bus maintenance and presentations by vendors showcasing their products to our WSTA maintenance managers and staff.
How to Get Involved
Elie Kourdahi from KCM wrote the following FTE Calculator software. The FTE Calculator is a stand along software with variances and options for committee members to use. To download, please click the text "FTE calculator". A big THANK YOU to Elie for sharing this with us.
