Fundamentals of Bus Collision Investigation
May 19-23, 2008

The Pierce Transit – Executive Services Department is hosting “Fundamentals of Bus Collision Investigation” on Monday, May 19, through Friday, May 23, 2008, 8a to 4:30p at the Pierce Transit Training Facility, 3720 96^th St SW, Lakewood, WA 98499 in the Rainier Room.  Friday’s session will begin at 7:30a and conclude at noon.  This course is sponsored by the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Office of Safety and Security, through the USDOT Transportation Safety Institute (TSI), Transit Safety and Security Division, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

If you would like to register one of your employees, please register at the TSI website at http://www.tsi.dot.gov/divisions/Transit/Attend.aspx. The cost of the course is $75 per person.  Course outline is attached.

Your registration and space in the class shall be confirmed 4-5 weeks before the course begins so that you are able to make necessary scheduling or travel arrangements.  Should you be required to cancel your registration, please do so six weeks in advance prior to the class so that anyone on the registration stand-by list has an opportunity to make arrangements to attend.

If you are traveling from out of the area, a block of 20 rooms have been reserved at the Best Western Park Plaza, 620 So. Hill Park Dr, Puyallup, WA  98373, (253)848-1500 under the name of TSI.  A “free” full continental breakfast is available each morning.  Driving directions from I-5 north or south:  Interstate 5, exit highway 512, exit #127 heading east towards Puyallup.  Exit off Hwy 512 at 9^th St SW/94^th Ave E.  Turn left off exit, cross freeway, turn right onto South Hill Park Drive.   Driving directions from Hwy 167 north or south:  Hwy 167 exit onto Hwy 512 west towards Puyallup, exit off Hwy 512 at the South Hill/Eatonville Hwy 161 exit.  Turn right off the exit, turn left onto South Hill Park Drive.
