IS COMMITTEE The WSTA IS Committee formed in 2008 and meets twice a year. The Committee is chaired by Kitsap Transit's Don Orton. The mission of the WSTA IS Committee is to assist all transit providers statewide with technology implementation to improve efficiencies. The committee's goals and objectives are outlined below: Goals: A. Develop a peer support system for transit technology professionals to share knowledge, expertise, and lessons learned. B. Leverage economies of scale wherever possible. C. Share experiences to solve common problems within transit agencies. D. Keep statewide transit agencies current with industry R&D. Objectives: A. Build a collaborative website for the committee to act as a knowledge repository and help desk. B. Foster collaboration to buy new technologies as a group. C. Provide training opportunities on common technologies, software, and/or hardware. Any member of WSTA engaged in information technology is eligible to participate on the committee.
