The Washington State Transit Association is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit corporation, representing 25 transit systems in the state. Our associate members (approximately 60) include state and local agencies and organizations, vendors, and consultants--those companies which provide services and products to the transit industry--as well as interested individuals.

WSTA's mission is to promote and enhance public transportation for the citizens of Washington State. Goals: promote legislation/advocacy, professional development through communication/cooperation, information sharing, awareness/trust/support. Therefore, WSTA advocates legislation beneficial to public transit, fosters the professional growth and development of transit management, and publicizes transit's accomplishments in The WSTA Newsletter.

WSTA is staffed by Peter Thein, executive director; Michelle Parvinen, member services director, Wendi Hill, administrative assistant/bookkeeper, and Amanda Sargent, secretary/receptionist..
